I am a single mother and so I am also on a budget. Still I believe my sons 1st birthday party will be great! It will be blues clues themed and also a lil' patriotic. For prizes I went to the
super .99 cent store. For the baby girls, I got them baby dolls, and the older girls will get lil' dress up shoes and play jewelry. For the baby boys, I got dump trucks and the older boys
some play police cars and firetrucks. I also got 2 blue table covers, red plates and white cups and lots of bags of assorted candy and crackerjacks for their goody bags and large blues clues
pinata. I found some toy plastic sticks that make noise when you move them, so I tied them to the stick they will use to hit the pinata. Every time I hear that noise I laugh so I hope the
kids like it to. At a party store I bought light and dark blue balloons with helium and streamers to hang from the ceiling. (My mom did this at my baby shower and the kids loooved it)I also
bought blues clues goody bags, candles, plates and cups for the kids. I printed out some blue paw prints from nickjr.com for pin the paw on blue game and also for decoration. The punch will
be blueberry flavored in a large blue doggy drinking bowl, and I will be making blues clues sugar cookies,(dog shaped cookie cutters, then paint them with blue frosting)served in a blue plate
that I decorated with blue, magenta, and periwinkle stickers. For games they will play pin the paw on blue, musical chairs ( chairs also have blues clues stickers on them) and a ring toss
that consists of blue rings that they will try to toss onto Blues ears. A friend is making a foam Blue with a wooden bottom to keep it from falling that has extra large ears that stand
straight up for the kids can toss the rings onto. I also rented a birthday cake jumper to keep the kids entertained so that the adults can have some time to talk. Works every time! I hope
this helped you with some ideas. Ive been planning this party since my son was six months old. The best part is it was all for under $250. Food, a blues clues cake, decorations, entertainment
and prizes, that's pretty good!
