My youngest son loves Blue's Clues. For his 3rd birthday we gave him a Blue's Clues Party. His guest's ages ranged from
2 - 10. Our Menu: Cake ...Blue's Clues Chips and Dip Kool-Aid...Magenta or Blue Ice Cream...Blue Swirl or Vanilla w/sprinkles Games: Duck in a Tub I found small plastic animals that float and placed tape on the bottom of one animal and marked it winner. I placed them in a large round metal tub filled with water. The first child to find the one marked "winner" won. Pin the Flag on Mailbox I found this game in the party section at our local store. You can make your own if you prefer. Bean Bag Toss Each child had 3 tries to toss a bean bag into a pail using a small plastic shovel. The one who got the most in, won. (Larger children had to stand farther back.) Musical Paw Prints I made paw prints for each child and placed them on the floor in a circle. Each child stood on a paw print. As the music started, a paw print was taken away. The child who was not standing on a paw print when the music stopped was out. This was continued until only one paw print was left. The child standing on it won. Fishing Game Great for small children I made a fishing pole with a stick and yarn. On the end of yarn, I tied a clothespin. In a doorway, I made a curtain. On one side of the curtain was an adult and the fish (party favors), on the other side, was an adult and the children. A child would cast the line over the curtain and the other adult would clip the party favor onto the yarn and give a slight tug. The child (and adult if needed) would pull up the catch. Prize Suggestions: Blue's Clues coloring books Blue's Clues activity books Reading books Stickers crayons bubbles play dough puzzles shovel and pail Face painting can be done by an older child. We painted our birthday boy's nose blue! To remember each guest, I found a 4 1/2" puzzle of Blue in her thinking chair. I put it together and modge podged it. I placed it up against the wall. Beside it, I placed a child's rocker, covered with red material. One at a time, I took each child's picture. (Now they have thinking chairs you can purchase and your child could hold Blue in his/her lap. Decorations: - You can place paw prints at the driveway leading up to the house. Or an older child could draw them on the sidewalk with blue chalk.(no cleanup) - place light and dark blue balloons and streamers all around. - I found a Blue's Clues banner at a party store, or you could make one. - I placed his Blue's Clues toys all around the house. - I had matching cups, plates napkins, plasticware, party hats, blowouts, tablecloths, and wrapping paper. I also made personalized placemats on the computer. - Make stickers and name tags on the computer. - I made a slide show of Blue's Clues pictures for my screen saver and added Blue's Clues music to it. I used the music during musical paw prints. For the party favors, I purchased a shovel and pail. Inside I placed... bubbles, playdough, doorknob hangers (made on the computer), a crayon, handy dandy notebook, and coloring pictures and activities.
