My daughters 2nd birthday party theme was Humpty Dumpty. She had a Humpty Dumpty stuffed toy and really adored it.  We had to be quite creative as there was no Humpty Dumpty in the party stores or anywhere.  The invitation was typed on paper in the form of a scroll. The verbage read like an invitation from the king. Calling all the kings men (ladies) and horses to a party to put Humpty back together again. We rolled the scroll tied it with ribbon and placed it inside a white plastic egg with one piece of a humpty dumpty puzzle. Each invitee was to bring the puzzle piece to the party.  The white plastic eggs were a challenge as all I could initally find was pastel Easter colored eggs.  I went online and found a company that sold only plastic eggs. They happened to have red, blue and white eggs that they sold togehter by the case.  Needless to say I needed only white and about 16!  I phoned the company explained the party and they sent me only white and the amount I needed for the price of shipping only!  When everyone arrived the children put the puzzle pieces together to complete the Humpty Dumpty puzzle. THis was a nice ice breaker and got the party rolling. The cake was made from a 3D egg pan and a 9x13 cake that was cut and place on its side to create the wall. The egg was place on the wall and secured with skewers. We used another 9x13 cake as the base and frosted it green.  We piped white frosting on dark red for the brick effect and piped Humpty's face and arms and legs. Other decorations included miniture plastic kings and horses and kings men placed around the table. Those I found for .99 cents a bag at Target with a collection of summer items they were meant as sand castle figurines.  We purchased white balloons and with marker drew a quick face and a slight crack. Those were attached to each chair around the table. I toyed with egg related food items such as deveiled eggs but stuck to basic party fare. The goodie bags were oval cardborad shaped boxes found at a craft store that we painted to look like my daughters stuffed Humpty Dumpty and hot glued a gingham bow on top of his painted colar. Inside the boxes I put more plastic kings and horses, silly putty, egg shaped chalk (out at Easter time) and small nursery rhymn board books which were sold as a set of 12 for only $8.00. For the babies goodie bags at the party I found little musical eggs that shake like a rattle and are often used as a children's instruments.
