We had a Stanley (Disney) party for our 6 yr old, January 2004. For our invitations we found clipart of Stanley with binnoculars and set it up like we were going on a Safari.
We hired a Wildlife conservationist to come to our home, he brought Ospray, Hawk, Snakes, flying squirrel, Owl, parrots and many more. He was funny and taught the kids fun facts and how the animals are needed, and what they can do to keep them around. Our Birthday boy's cake was a face of Stanley and family and friends got cupcakes (to represent fish bowl) icing to look like water and a "goldfish" cracker atop to represent "Dennis". Each child got a "Great Big Book of Everything" that we made ahead of time (included 6 animals with facts), the last page was Friends.... we pretyped in our thank you and a small fact on friends and took pictures at the party with each child with birthday boy and gave to them at the end of the party to insert in the book. Each child also received a Safari hat, play binnoculars, safari animals (plastic). Birthday boy had a "special" straw safari hat, different from the guest, they had plastic...this set him out from the guest. You could have the guest decorate the hats with animal stickers and their name. It was a huge hit!
