For my daughter's 5th birthday, I wanted to do something different than the other parties she had been to.
We decided to have a "Dalmatian party". I went to the store and bought black plastic headbands and clearance swatches of Dalmatian print material from which I made Dalmatian ears for all of the guests. Out of the same material I made parachute type pants for the birthday girl so she'd look special. At a local pet store I found a dog bone cookie cutter and made dog bones as treats. We already had a big pop up tent, so I made a DOG HOUSE sign to put on the outside. The kids were instructed to shed their shoes, don their ears and become puppies. They got into character immediately. It was loud at times, but the kids had a blast! They entertained themselves for the whole party. They were almost too busy to break the piņata! The best part of it was, it was VERY inexpensive and the kids still talk about it!
