For my daughter's 8th birthday she chose a pink french poodle theme. We found scrapbooking paper with poodles, eiffel towers, balloons and birthday cake and printed them on our computer saying
:"You are invited to Ariana's Pink Poodle Birthday Bash". We had a french breakfast with chocolate and regualar croissants, crepes filled with jam, cheese omelets and fruit--juice
and milk were served in pink eiffel tower party cups. Parents who stayed were treated to cafe au lait and croissants. The table was in pink, lavender and black--decorated with pink poodle
placemats, paper eiffel towers, stuffed pink poodles, little hat boxes filled with M&M's,and black buckets filled with pink roses. I set up a long banquet table and ordered hot pink
chairs from which we tied a mixture of different pink balloons. After breakfast we played "Pin the puff on the poodle" (I had a poodle picture from the invitation blown up into a
poster size, "Pass the Poodle"-an elimination game like musical chairs, Limbo, and "Poodle Bingo"-I blew up and color copied a poodle picture from the invite and used them
to make 5x5 bingo cards
using words like 'birthday','poodle', etc., we used pastel colored M&M's for markers. Game prizes were from Claire's-pink poodle compact mirrors, headbands, or little french manicure sets.During the party we played different dog themed songs like "Hound Dog", "Who let the dogs out", "How much is that doggie in the window", etc. We then made pink poodle purses out of sheets of pink sheet foam (I cut out 4" squares from each side) and had the girls use plastic needles pre-threaded with black yarn to 'whip-stitch' up the sides and attach a black ribbon handle. They then glued on poodle iron on patches. We used the purses to collect the candy from the pink poodle piniata. We then had a chocolate cake ordered from the bakery in the shape of a pink poodle with strawberry ice cream. As the girls left they took their hatboxes filled with M&M's and I had small goodie bags filled with little trinkets I found with poodles on them. A great party and really easy to do!
