My 5-year-old daughter LOVES pretending to be a dog, so for her birthday, we decided to have a "Pooch party!"  I found some notecards that had a dog on the front with a bone in his mouth that simply said "woof!" On the inside, I printed up the invitation that said "Kensey is 35!!! (in dog years, that is)...included party details, and asked that invitees ARF!SVP. I made a t-shirt for Kensey that had her face on a dog's body, surrounded by other dogs (this can be done with a scanner, printer, and iron-on transfer paper; got the picture from a Kipper book). I had that same picture transferred to her cake, which was covered with candy bones. Her cake read "Happy 35th Birthday Kensey! (That's in dog years. Woof!)" I got a bounce house with Scooby Doo on it, and hung a big sign on it covered with dog stickers that read, "You are in the doghouse!"  I made dog ears and tails for all the attendees.  Fot the ears I used plastic headbands, and attached felt ears with velcro buttons. I also used felt and velcro for the tails.  After I adorned the kids in their ears and tails, I used face paint to put dog noses and freckles on them. They absolutely loved this!  One of the tremendous hits of the party with kids and adults were the "kooky chews" from Birthday Express.  They are miniature dog bowls filled with graham cookie chunks that look like dog food, as well as a candy bone.  I printed up name labels and labeled the bowls. The kids loved eating from these in true doggie fashion!  There were two activity tables.  The first had several cans of Play-Doh and some dog bone cookie cutters. The second was a "collar-decorating station!"  I cut strips of posterboard and put velcro buttons on each end.  I had letter stickers so the kids could put their names on the collars, as well as paw stickers and other tiny decorative stickers.  I had covered the tables in plain white paper, which my kids enjoyed covering with dog stickers for decoration.  For pre-lunch snacks, I served pretzel nuggets (they look remarkably like dog food!) in actual plastic dog bowls that I got at the dollar store. Bone-shaped cookies were included with the lunch spread. When it came time to sing "Happy Birthday," we all barked to the tune instead of singing the words!!  Before the kids left, they were each given a "doggie bag" which included a resin dog figurine, a bone-shaped keychain, a dog and bones beachball, a bone cookie, and some bone candies. A wooferful time was had by all dogs who attended!!
