Since my daughter is BIG dog lover, it was fun and easy to create a dog-themed Birthday Party.  I found lots of great ideas from this website and created a few of my own.   INVITATIONS:  Store bought Dog printed Birthday Invitations.  DECORATIONS:  Dog-themed printed party ware.  Lots of balloons tied to Dog Stuffed Animals throughout the house. Pictures of my daughter with her dog displayed in frames.  As guests arrived, they all autographed a dog stuffed animal (purchased at Target for $1).   Pet Shop:  Set up Living room area as a Dog Pet Shop.  Dog House made from large cardboard boxes and painted white with red roof. Purchased 1 dozen assorted dog stuffed animals from Oriental Trading and displayed them in boxes and dog crates, seperating them by breed.  Printed Dog Facts for each breed on 8 ½ x 11 paper and glued on 12 x 12 dog themed stock paper.  Displayed fact sheets on living room wall above each stuffed animal in an effort to create a Pet Shop atmosphere.  Facts included Breed, Height, Weight, Color, Personality, Grooming Tips and Exercise Requirements. (Had taken books from the library to find this information).  Each child selected a puppy to adopt.   Then each child received an Adoption Certificate (printed from the computer and puppy graphics added) which included the Breed, Date of Birth, Height, Weight, Gender and Full Name Given.  I hereby promise to give my pet lots of love, feed my pet daily and give my pet a safe and happy home was imprinted on bottom of Adoption Certificate. Also included Belongs To and Signature Line for New Owner.  Another line was imprinted for the Witness Signature and Date.  Mom completed paper work and another Mom signed as the witness. Once Adoption Certificate was filled out, each child received a Dog Collar (Nylon Paw Printed Bracelets from Oriental Trading but worked great as dog collar).  Each guest then went to Nana's Grooming to have their new pets bathed.  Sign was posted on bathroom door created by older sister and Nana gave each puppy a pretend bath, wrapped them in a Dog Paw Print Towel and put her initials on the Adotpion Certificate under Bath/Groomed.  From there, each child went to the Vet played by older sister.  A Vetenarian Sign drawn by older sister was posted on her bedroom door and each guest brought their puppy to see the Vet.  Once the Vet(sister) examined the puppy and gave them their shots, she initialed under Exam/Shots on Adoption Certificate.  MENU: Puppy Chow Mix (1 package of chocolate chips, ½ cup peanut butter and ¼ cup of butter, microwave on high for one minute.  Then stir, microwave ½ minute more until it's smooth. Add 1 teaspoon of vanilla and pour over a large bowl full of 9 cups of Chex and stir.  Pour everything into large Ziploc bag, add ½ cup of powdered sugar, seal the bag and shake. Spread evenly on wax paper to cool.) Decorated Empty Cereal Box and labeled to look like Puppy Chow.  Served in Large Dog Bowl.  Also served Hot Diggity Dogs, Hamburgers and Chips and Drinks.  CAKE: Puppy Paw Cup Cakes. Bake and frost cupcakes. Use peppermint patty to make paw print with 3 chocolate chips inverted. Cake decorated with same paw print design.  Put cake on dress me up plate (Southern Living) with ribbon that read Pick of the Litter purchased at Walmart.   GAMES: Dog Treat Guessing Game: Filled clear Dog Treat jar with home-made Bone-shaped  Sugar Cookies (Cookie Cutter purchased at Michaels Crafts). Each child guessed how many treats were in the Dog Treat Jar by writing down their name and how many on form created from computer.  Prize awarded was a Dog Coloring/Craft Book. Pass the Bone: Similar to Musical Chairs but pass the Dog Bone to the music of Who Let The Dog's Out. Dog Barking Trivia:  Ask Dog trivia questions (What is a group of puppies born at one time called? Litter.  What are the smallest dogs? Chihauhuas.) Instead of having the children yell out answers or raise their hands, have them BARK. If they answer correctly they are patted on the head and rewarded with a Bone (Sugar Cookie from the Treat Jar). This was lots of fun and the girls loved to Bark!  FAVORS: Created Doggy Bags for each adopted dog by using Medium Sized Brown Bags with Handle (purchased at Walmart). Cut out small round opening in front of bag for Dog's head to peep through.  Decorated Doggy Bag with Dog Stickers and pasted a cut out Bone (traced from Bone cookie cutter) imprinted with wording of  Dogs Rule,  Woof, #1 Dog, or Good Dog.  Each child received Doggy Bag filled with their puppy, Adoption Certificate, Dog Fact Sheet for their breed and small Ziplock bag filled with 1 Sugar Cookie Bone and Puppy Chow Mix.    THANK YOU's:  Took photo of all the girls with their new puppies in front of the Dog House and included photo in Thank you Notes.  Everyone had a great time and loved taking home a Doggy Bag".  "
