We had a girl's tea party for my 9 year old daughter this year. We made teacup invitations by cutting out tea cup shapes on a piece of cardstock and pretty wallpaper from a wallpaper book.
Then we cut out an opening in the wallpaper cup and glued the two together, leaving room in the center to put a tea bag through the hole in the wallpaper. All the girl's wore their best
dresses. My son wore his suit and played doorman and my father-in-law and husband wore tuxedos and played butler. They served the girls tea using a silver tea set. Sugar cubes were a big hit
- most of the girls had never seen sugar cubes before! We served open faced mini sandwiches, mints and cupcakes. Then for the party favors I used the candle idea from Mary Englebert's craft
book. We poured wax in the cups (cups and saucers bought from goodwill) and then the girl's glued beads, pearls, and sequins on the cups and saucers.
Their candles came out beautiful and they all got to take them home. They had so much fun.
