Doll tea party
For my daughter's 9th birthday we decided to celebrate her birthday along with her doll's (she was given her American Girl for her last birthday) So we had a doll tea party. The invitation featured a photo of my daughter with her doll (from her last birthday when she got the doll) the invitations were for the girls and their dolls. As the girls arrived we took photos of each girl seated by a small doll table where her doll was seated with my daughter's doll. On the table was a very pretty silver doll tea set we had given her for her birthday. We purchased plain white demitasse cups (small coffee cups) that were just the right size for the girls. and small doll tea sets for the dolls. We served little sandwiches and ice tea and cool-aid. As an activity the girls all painted their own cups with paint pens and as favors they took home their cup/saucer and a doll sized ones for their doll. As a game we played pin the teacup on the doll. (We took a two page photo of an American girl doll from the catalog for the poster and bought small sticker of tea cups with flowers in them) the girls played it just like pin the tail on the donkey only trying to put the tea cup in the dolls hand. The winners won the tea pot and cream and sugar sets from the doll tea sets On the cake we had a tiny tea set on a tray (even smaller than the doll sized one's we used on the table for the dolls) We have photos if anyone would like to see. GREAT fun for the girls (and the moms had lots of fun too) Maria
