Date
July 2001
From
Noni in Lake Stevens, Washington
Honorable Mention
Teletubby For my son's second and daughter's first birthday.
I created invitations on the computer on full 8 1/2X11 paper. I cut and paste pictures from the internet. They said. You are invited to a party for Chace (Dipsy) and Alexis (Laa Laa)on Sunday, February 25 at 3:00pm. We will be waiting at 12303 28th Place NE, Lake Stevens, Washington. Please come dressed in the color of your favorite teletubby. There will be tubby toast, tubby custard and tubby cupcakes. We will be doing tubby activities, so you will need a picture of yourself as a baby to create the sun. Be ready to do the Da Boom Boom Dance and play the Again Again game. Prizes and goodies will be tailored to each teletubby, so please RSVP ASAP.
The table was decorated in a green cloth with paper bunnies and flowers all over as if it were teletubby land. Red bags like Tinky Winkys were put out on the table. They had a crayon for the color of the specific teletubby. A picture of that teletubby to color. Stickers of Teletubbies to decorate the bag.
A headband with a pipe cleaner converted into the design of that teletubby. Cardboard with aluminum foil to make their TV Tummies. Suns precut with a Popsicle stick for them to put their picture they brought on and glued together. They colored while everyone arrived and then they became teletubbies and decorated stuff.
Then we played the games, which and basically the conga line and a simple simple game of Simon says. Basically I said touch a body part and I had everyone yell Again Again with prizes of bubbles and kaleidoscopes with teletubbies on them. We did a Nu Nu Pinata. Balloons were solid colors in the colors of the teletubbies everywhere. Before we opened presents, we handed out gifts from the hosts Dipsy and Laa Laa hand made Dipsy hats from construction paper (WOW!) and mini orange superballs like Laa Laa's.
For food we had tubby custard which was strawberry shakes put in clear cups with straws with a picture of the Nu Nu attached. Tubby toast was English muffin with cheese and eyes cut out.
For cake, we did cupcakes decorated to look like each teletubby using pipe cleaners, colored food coloring, and M&M's. It was a ton of fun and unforgettable.
